Bollywood’s shy boy Prateik Babbar is gearing up to follow in Shahid Kapoor’s footsteps quite literally.
Last week when Prateik was shooting some patchwork scenes for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s My Friend Pinto, he was required to perform a slight jig on some contemporary music and according to eyewitnesses, his dancing skills were no less a revelation than his acting.
A unit member who was present at the shoot says, “Dancing’s never been his style; Prateik is known as a serious actor who has given stellar performances in all his films so far. It was an eye-opener to watch him burn the dance floor. I dare say he matched up to the levels of Shahid and Hrithik.”
The praises coming his way seem to be doing wonders for the shy boy.
“I used to enjoy dancing but I had no confidence. Dancing in social events would make me nervous and I am usually scared of attention. But this year I want to overcome all my inhibitions. I want to blow kisses to the crowds like other actors,” smiles Prateik.
Now that shouldn’t take long.
