TRIPOLI, Libya — Col. Muammar el-Gaddafi(Qaddafi), the former Libyan strongman who fled into hiding after rebels toppled his regime two months ago, was killed Thursday 21 october as fighters battling the vestiges of his loyalist forces wrested control of his hometown of Surt, the interim government announced.
Gaddafi, who ruled Libya for 42 years, was captured by the rebels who shot him and injured him severely with bullets.
Media reported that Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi died of his wounds after being captured from a hole where he had been hiding. He breathed his last when he was being transported.
