Aishwarya, Amitabh and AR Rahman at Robot music launch
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will next be seen in Endhiran-The Robot, a Tamil film directed by S. Shankar and also starring South superstar Rajnikanth. The film is set to release on September 24th and will be released in Hindi and Telegu as well. Robot is said to be one of the most expensive in Indian film history costing Rs 150-190 crore. The music was composed by A R Rahman and the Sun Pictures' Robot music launch, which was held on August 14th in Mumbai, was an eclectic and stunning affair. Of course in attendance were stars Aishwarya and Rajni, along with director Shankar and AR Rahman plus some extra special guests.
Hosted by Kalanidi Maran and Ratan Jain, the evening it seems was very special as few of the most reclusive people of the industry came out for the launch. One them was Danny Denzongpa who stars in the film in a negative role, and he gave a refreshingly different speech in Hindi.
Oscar winner, Resul Pookutty, Superstar Rajnikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, alongside Amitabh Bachchan graciously launched the music of Robot. All the dignitaries present gave acknowledgment speeches with director Shankar giving insight into the movie and Aishwarya gushed like star struck fan about 'Rajni Sir'. She went on to say that Robot was a landmark film. "My previous film Jeans with Shankar was ahead of its time but I felt enriched as an artist very early in my career. Robot was a similar experience."
AR Rahman was at his humorous best and Rajnikanth had everyone in splits with his self-deprecating humour. He also charmed everyone with his humility. Amitabh Bachchan summed up beautifully the bond between Rajnikanth and him.
Aishwarya's family, mother-in-law Jaya Bachchan and husband Abhishek Bachchan were also present to lend their full support
Here are some exclusive stills from the event!
