Ajay shuns Kangna on Kajol's prodding

The normally reticent Ajay recommended Kangna's name as his heroine in David Dhawan's upcoming film Rascals after he was impressed by her performance in last year's hit, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai, where the two were co-stars.

Soon, Kangna was telling everyone that Ajay, as well as Sanjay Dutt who also stars in the movie and is one of the producers of Rascals, go out of their way to make her 'comfortable' on the sets of the film. She also claims that she is their close friend.

"Kangna's tactics have reportedly miffed Ajay's superstar wife Kajol, who is not known to brook any sort of nonsense. This could be the reason why Ajay is trying to maintain his distance," a source in the unit of Rascals revealed.

Not long ago, fresh reports of how Kangna went around telling people in the film circle about her close friendship with Salman Khan had emerged.

Reportedly, Salman, who was keen to have her as his heroine in an upcoming project, dropped the idea after that.

Sources close to Kangna , however, chose to negate the rumours. "Kangna is a straightforward girl and friendly with people she thinks are genuine. This does create problems for her at times. Ajay is not the type of guy to snub his co-star," a source said.

"While filming for Rascals, Ajay and Sanjay bonded well with her. She also shares good vibes with Sanjay's wife, Manyata," the source added.

About the Salman controversy, the source said if the Dabangg hero was upset with Kangna, he wouldn't have offered her a cameo in his upcoming film, Ready. Industry insiders, however, feel Kangna, who has never had a godfather in Bollywood, has perhaps now realised the importance of having one.

"So far, she has made it on her own. She also looks like the type who is self-reliant. However, Bollywood is a place where you ultimately need to belong to a strong camp to survive in the long run - especially if you are an actress. Maybe that realisation has made Kangna media-savvy," a trade source said.

Kangna first created news when, on the sets of Rascals, she turned down director David Dhawan's suggestion that she wear a bikini in the film. Reportedly, she behaved pricey over the issue.

On her relationship with costar Sanjay Dutt, speculations were rife till a few months ago when Kangna did not even bother to visit Manyata after the latter was blessed with twins.
