'Me and alcohol are not friends!' Cheryl Cole tweets regret after 'too many bubbles' on drunken night out with will.i.am in London

She's had a difficult few months after being fired from the X Factor USA and trying to re-establish her reputation.

So Cheryl Cole can definitely be forgiven for letting her hair down on a rare night out with manager will.i.am.

The 28-year-old singer looked slightly worse for wear in a picture she posted on her Twitter page which showed her clutching a bottle of champagne and holding her finger up in a rude gesture to the camera.

The Girls Aloud star was later seen heading home after an eventful evening, struggling to keep her eyes open as she sat in the back of her car with friends.

Earlier in the evening, Cheryl had looked polished as she posed for photographers at the HTC and Beats Audio party at London's Roundhouse.

The Promise This singer went for an edgier look for her evening out, teaming a pair of skintight leather trousers and an unusual face-print top.

Cheryl accessorised her look with pointed black court shoes, lashings of red lipstick and teased her hair into waves to complete her new image.

She had earlier posted a picture of herself at the event, with the caption: 'I'll be rocking them BEATS! Yup yup yup yup!'

The words are from the Black Eyed Peas track Boom Boom Pow.

And Cheryl wasn't the only star to share pictures of the occasion on Twitter as will.i.am, who headlined the event, later tweeted followers to a shot of the pair posing up together.

He wrote: 'Me and little miss tweety bird :)'

Cheryl and her manager will.i.am have been working hard together on the Girls Aloud star's second album in New York.

And it was recently reported that the record is set to include a track with teen sensation Justin Bieber, after will.i.am spoke to Bieber's manager Usher about the possibility.

A source told the Daily Mirror: 'Cheryl is beyond excited about her new album and Bieber’s team are deep in talks with hers to make a hit… they already see Cheryl and Will.I.Am as part of the family.

'Will’s got a vision for her album, and now the biggest and the best names are keen to be part of it. 

'Usher and Will got together to make 'O.M.G' – just think what they could do with their protégés.'

Earlier in the day, will.i.am had tried to dispel rumours the band was breaking up.

It may have had something to do with the Black Eyed Peas pulling out of the Michael Jackson tribute concert in Cardiff, just days before it is due to kick off.

He said: 'Why do people listen to rumors..."Me and @apl_de created the peas"...so...from the creators mouth...We are not breaking up...stop the rumors.'

Cheryl and will.i.am were joined by stars including Lady Gaga at last night's event, who pushed the boat out for the occasion in another crazy outfit.

The 25-year-old sported a Cousin It-style dress and hat made of jet black hair, pairing the wig dress with fishnet stockings and a pair of towering heels.

Curls Aloud: Cheryl Cole tries a new look with tumbling waves as she enjoys New York trip

She wowed fans when she unveiled her new blonde hair earlier this year, and now Cheryl Cole is mixing things up with yet another new look.

The 28-year-old singer stepped out with her bob teased into tumbling curls after a lengthy trip to a hair salon earlier this week.

Cheryl teamed her wavy look with a £345 Marc Jacobs printed panther minidress, brown boots and a £855 Ralph Lauren satchel-type bag as she made the most of the sunshine during her trip to New York.

She had earlier arrived at the hairdressers with her hair tied up with a big bow.

As well as recording her second solo album in the Big Apple, the Girls Aloud star also jetted to Hollywood to film a cameo role in upcoming movie What To Expect When You're Expecting.

But Cheryl has also apparently found time for a bit of romance, and was recently romantically linked to music producer Alex Da Kid, with whom she has been working on her new material.


A source told the Sun: 'Cheryl and Alex have struck up a great friendship and have been living in each other's pockets for the past week.

She donned a variety of camouflage-style outfits when she was promoting her summer anthem Fight For This Love.

But yesterday Cheryl Cole wore the army colours for a different reason, as she became the new forces' sweetheart while visiting British troops in Afghanistan.

The 28-year-old star flew out to Camp Bastion in the Helmand province on Tuesday night on a visit to mark 10 years of British operations in the country.

Cheryl boarded a troop carrier plane at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire for a 12-hour flight on Tuesday morning, having previously undergone hostile environment training to prepare her for the trip.

On the way to Afghanistan, Cheryl made herself useful on the flight, serving drinks and dinners of sausages and mash to her fellow passengers, who were flying out for a six-month tour.

Once in the Helmand Province, Cheryl was given her own army fatigues and took part in a mock gun fight, which she deemed 'terrifying'.

She added: 'I went into the room and heard an explosion.

'It was scary. I was terrified. I'm not ashamed to say I screamed and uttered a few expletives.'

Task Force Helmand chief, ­Lt Col Tim Purbrick, told the Daily Mirror: 'Cheryl was not afraid to get her shoes dirty.
