Anurag Basu's all for guerrilla filmmaking

Anurag Basu and his team of " Barfee", who were about to shoot in Kolkata from end-August, preponed their shoot by 15 days much to the city's surprise.

But Anurag was categorically clear: he wouldn't have the crowd rub his team the wrong way like it had in Darjeeling, where the team shot before heading for Mumbai and eventually, Kolkata. When CT got in touch with Anurag, he said unabashedly, "Guerrilla filmmaking is all that I had planned before coming down to Kolkata. Frankly, a messy crowd can kill the shoot."

The director, who was expecting heavy showers, said he had a smooth run while shooting in the city. "Thankfully, there were no rains," he said. Anurag had started shooting with Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra at Mullick Ghat and was later joined by Ileana D'Cruz. So apologetic was the director for not allowing the media at the shooting spot that he even organized a press conference on Friday, where he spoke about the shooting so far and how Ranbir and he are geared up to watch Messi take to the field in Kolkata on September 2. Go for goal, we say!
