When Bipasha Basu and Rana Daggubati became an item

Bipasha Basu’s camaraderie with Hollywood hottie Josh Hartnett on the sets of Singularity led to speculations of a possible break-up with her long-time boyfriend John Abraham. But soon the Bong babe got into action and dismissed Josh as just a friend. And that was the end of the rumoured romance.

Bips returned to India and began shooting for Rohan Sippy’s Dum Maaro Dum with south Indian hottie Rana Daggubatti. Once again gossipmongers sniffed of a possible romance between the two good-looking actors. Around the same time news broke that Bips-John had finally ended their nine-year-long romance.

At first, fingers were pointed at Rana for the rift, but later it was revealed that the bone of contention was John’s unwillingness to get married. Since then, the sexy single became a favourite for link-up stories. From Rana Daggubati to Shahid Kapoor to Ranbir Kapoor, Bips has been linked with every single guy she has been spotted with. 

Anyway, now that Rana is back in Mumbai to shoot for Ram Gopal Varma’s Department, once again stories of their romance are making headlines. A recent one was that the two actors are getting married. 

The story emerged after they were spotted at Paris Hilton’s party. Though they entered separately, invitees at the party reveal they stayed together all through the night. But Bips has denied the rumours and we feel sorry for the girl. Maybe Rana is just one of the co-stars she is friendly with like Abhishek Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Sikander Kher and Ranbir Kapoor. Let the girl have some fun!

I loved Bipasha Basu: Paris Hilton

Introducing her line of handbags may have been the primary agenda of Paris Hilton’s maiden visit to Mumbai last weekend, but the heiress is ensuring she makes the most of her time here. In between events and launches related to her brand, Paris met and bonded with big names from Bollywood, the music fraternity and top business houses. And arguably the biggest outcome of her trip may be a Bollywood film.

Since she made her Hollywood debut in 2005 with House Of Wax, the actor admits she’s received hundreds of scripts from Indian filmmakers. But she has never had time to consider them. This visit, though, may have been the turning point.

“It’s not like I didn’t like those films. Some had interesting scripts with good music and great actors, but I’ve never had the time to fly to India for filming them,” says Paris, adding, “But now that I’ve visited the city and seen everything for myself, I’m definitely going to consider it more seriously.”

She admits that even a few Indian musicians have approached her to meet and discuss possible collaborations, but it’s going to be “difficult to make time for everyone.”

On Saturday night, Paris interacted with several Bollywood stars at a party hosted in her honour. “I met more than 150 people; it was a lot of fun. I loved Bipasha Basu. She’s absolutely gorgeous and really cool. I bonded with VJ Anusha too,” she gushes.

Paris’s handbag range is the first of her 17 product lines to hit Indian markets, in a tie-up with Brand Concepts, but she’s unsure of what she’ll launch here next. “The thought of introducing an apparel line here excites me. I also want to incorporate India in to my designs. I’ve noticed the colours people like here, their affinity for gold and sparkle. I know exactly what I’d like to do. In fact, I’ve already started working on it,” she informs.

Ask her if she wanted or would consider appointing an Indian celebrity as the face of her brand here and she insists, “I’m the only brand ambassador or face of my brand. I have never hired anyone to do that job; it’s only me.”

Paris promises that she’ll return to India soon, hopefully to launch more of her products. Currently, she has her hands full with a number of projects, including handling a successful Moto GP team, producing music (with Afrojack), starring in TV shows and acting in a Hollywood film. She adds, “I’m also opening a beach club in the Philippines, following which, there will be a chain of boutique hotels.”

Bipasha Basu in New Hairstyle!

Bollywood Actress Bipasha had a piercing done some time back. And she has again modified her looks. 

Seems she wants change after her break-up with her long term boy friend John Abraham. She has got a new hairstyle, which will be the look for her forthcoming film “Jodi Breakers”. She is paired opposite R. Madhavan in the film.

Sapna Bhavnani has done the new haircut for Bips. Sapna is the personal hairstylist of Bipasha for a long time now. Bips says that Sapna is aware of Bipasha’s changes in mood, so she has given Bips a new style for her mane. Bips has gone for long hair, with a parting in the middle. Bipasha said that she loves her hair short. But before going to Sapna for a haircut, she asked her friends on phone that what type of hairstyle would be suiting on her. And all said her to get a longer hairstyle. Then Bipasha followed the advice of her pals, and went for a longer hairstyle.

Bipasha’s other releases this year are “Players” and “Singularity”. Both the films are in the post-production stages. Its also being heard that these days, Basu is dating none other than the handsome hunk Shahid Kapoor. Though this news is not an authenticated one!

Bipasha Basu is having sleepless nights nowadays. The reason - her 'blast from the past' hot commercial is becoming a rage online! Bipasha might not have thought about this even in her wildest dreams, but her dated topless video is back to trouble her, and that too after so many years. 

Bipasha had shot for the commercial in question for New York Lotto in the 1990s, when she used to do modeling in the US. The steamy video shows Bipasha as a princess, who is getting ready for her marriage and the prince is none other than actor, Vivek Oberoi. Katrina won't let Bipasha be 'Munni'

Actress Katrina Kaif, we hear, is miffed that Bipasha Basu will be dancing to the 'Munni' item number in the SOuth remake of 'Dabangg'. There's news that the South makers are keen that Bipasha Basu shake a leg for an item number, and the dates are being worked out.

On the other hand, Katrina Kaif, whose Sheila Ki Jawani song became a huge hit,. doesn't want long-time rival Bipasha to be a part of 'Dabangg' in any capacity, and it is learnt that she even spoke to close friend Salman Khan about it.

Though actor Sonu Sood confirms that Bipasha Basu is the first choice for the 'Munni' song, Katrina, apparently, isn't happy about it.

However, a source close to Katrina rubbishes the story: "Katrina has moved on. She isn't the type to haggle or brood. Also, the rights of the movie have already been sold. I guess there's little that anyone can do. The decision making would lie with the producers who have bought the rights. How does it matter?"

It can be remembered that Katrina and Bipasha had problems during the making of 'Race', and later when rumours of an affair between Katrina and Bipasha's then boyfriend, John Abraham started doing the rounds.

I don’t need to woo Ranbir: Bipasha Basu

Bipasha Basu has rubbished the rumours that she is trying to woo the much single Ranbir Kapoor.

Ever since Bipasha Basu broke up with John Abraham, rumourmongers have been busy linking her up with different men, be it Josh Hartnett or Ranbir Kapoor.

Yes, all it took was a word of praise for Ranbir from Bipasha for the gossip mills to swing into motion and surmise that she is trying to woo Ranbir.

After watching the trailer of Rockstar, Bipasha was quite bowled over by Ranbir Kapoor's "powerhouse performance".

She posted on Twitter: “Really hve 2 share this, Rockstar is by far d best n d most captivating trailer tht I hve seen.Ranbir looks like a powerhouse performer!:)”

It’s no secret that Ranbir and Bipasha have been friends since Bachna Ae Haseeno. But Bipasha was surprised at how rumourmongers who read her tweet on Ranbir jumped to the conclusion that she was trying to woo Ranbir.

“Woke up to a news report tht says 'Am wooing Ranbir'! Bizarre! Just bcoz I love Rockstar trailer n I tweeted abt it!

“Ranbir is an awesome guy but I don't need to woo him like this. I like to be wooed,I dnt need to woo anyone for that matter!,” she tweeted.

Bipasha returns for Raaz 3

Mumbai, Aug 20 (PTI) Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu has been signed up for the third instalment of the film `Raaz'. "So it is official now...the cast of Raaz 3- Emraan, Jacqueline and .....Bipasha Basu!," filmmaker Vikram Bhatt said on micro-blogging site twitter. "Bipasha fans out there! How do you like the name Shanaya for her Character in Raaz 3?," he asked. Bhatt's 2002 thriller `Raaz' was a big commercial success and it brought in a lot of appreciation for Bipasha. She received her first Best Actress nomination at the Filmfare for her role in the film. Directed by Bhatt, `Raaz' had Bipasha and Dino Morea in the lead, while a sequel, released in 2009 (`Raaz - The Mystery Continues') had Emraan Hashmi and Kangana Ranaut and was directed by Mohit Suri. After almost a decade, Bipasha is returning to the Raaz franchise, to be directed by Bhatt again this time. "A big shout out to a dear friend thevikrambhatt! Do welcome him to twitterverse! Looking forward to Raaz 3," an excited Bipasha said on twitter. Bhatt returns to Vishesh Films for Raaz 3. He started his career in 1992 with the production house's `Jaanam', and went on to do four more films with it, including the first of the 'Raaz' series, and `Footpath' (2003)

Ever since Shahid Kapoor broke up with Kareena Kapoor in 2007 he has been linked to stars such as Vidya Balan, Sania Mirza and more recently Priyanka Chopra.

Mixed reviews for Vikram Bhatt's Haunted

While the film is being appreciated by the critics for its special effects, Vikram Bhatt's 3D horror movie Haunted fails to go beyond the cliches. But would it be engaging enough for the viewers?

Answers Nikhat Kazmi, Times of India, "But if the film works -- and it works

quite well -- is only because of the special effects of the film. Experiencing the horror in 3D is indeed a novel experience for the viewer, specially since it is smartly done. Each time the ghosts lunge out at you, stick out their tongue or flail their limbs, you jump back in your seat. And yes, there are a lot of ghosts, performing a lot of ghastly acrobatics. There's even a snake sticking out its venom at you and a hurtling brick, almost missing your nose....Great fun."

Vikram Bhatt's Haunted releases on May 6

Concurs Taran Adarsh, Bollywood Hungama, "With Haunted, Bhatt merges the deadly combo of horror with 3D effectively. It's an absorbing and gripping edge of the seat horror film that keeps the mercury rising in those 2.15 hours. This movie is not for the faint-hearted, I wish to state at the very outset."

But not everyone is happy with the 3D effects.

Says Preeti Arora, Rediff, "And here's the thing about good horror films: they're either brilliantly bloodcurdling, or conveniently comic. Either way, it's entertaining. But Haunted adds a third dimension to this classification. It's annoying. There's no subtle way of saying this, really, so here it is: nothing in this film works. Not the story, not the acting, not the music and certainly not the 3D. Haunted is a total downer, and the title of "India's first stereoscopic 3D film" certainly deserved a much better movie to go along with it."

Performance
In a far cry from his father's acting prowess, Mimoh isn't much of an actor. He lugs his bulky body across the frame, delivering his dialogues in a constant monotone, often failing to engage his hands. The script tries hard to bring out the best in this star kid, and if the script wasn't trying hard enough, Mimoh seems desperate to make an impression on you. He plays the piano, he dances, he falls in love, and he fights evils spirits? Debutante Tia Bajpai (of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi fame) does well in screaming so hard as if to convince the audience that she owns more than just one pair of lungs. Unfortunately for her, there is little else she can do well.: Rediff

Mahaakshay does a decent job. He's fairly good in most parts, but I found his performance to be stilted at times. However, he's come a long way from his debut film, but the lad still needs to work on his body and acting skills. Tia is absolutely excellent as the frightened victim. In fact, the actress is a complete revelation, handling a tough role in her debut film with remarkable ease. The lead pair gets major help from the supporting cast. Achint Kaur is incredible and it's really unfortunate that film-makers have never really tapped the potential of this fine actor. Arif Zakaria sinks his teeth into this role, striking terror when required. In fact, the prosthetics of Achint and Arif are worth recalling. Mohan Kapoor does well in a brief role. Rajini suffering from viral fever, allergic bronchitis

the shooting of the Rajinikanth starrer imminent flick ‘Rana’, which went on floors just a week ago, has stopped, as its hero and south megastar Rajini is down with viral fever.

This is the second time when Rajinikanth has been hospitalized since the making of Rana has started.

Doctors attending the superstar at the Isabella hospital, Chennai, have informed that Rajini is suffering from viral fever and allergic bronchitis.
However, there is nothing to worry about the legend’s health, as he will be in the pink soon, say doctors as well as Rajini’s family members.
Rajini’s daughter Aishwarya Dhanush, stated, "There's nothing to worry. He is perfectly fine. He was hospitalized at Isabel at about 7pm on Wednesday due to fever and allergic bronchitis. Doctors have advised rest and he will be under observation for two more days."

The 60-year-old actor has made a place for himself in hearts of millions across the globe.
The news about Rajini’s poor health had disturbed and saddened his admirers.
The tabloids reported that Rajini’s fans are praying for superstar’s speedy recovery.
